Edendale, Pretoria β A quiet Sunday evening turned tragic in Edendale when a water tanker spiraled out of control and crashed into two homes, leaving a path of destruction, injury, and heartbreaking loss.

The horrific accident occurred when a tanker truck transporting drinking water veered off the roadway and slammed into residential properties. Emergency responders from Mi7 Emergency Medical Services were quickly on the scene and found chaos β destroyed walls, debris-strewn yards, and severely damaged structures.
Five people were initially rushed to hospitals by various emergency teams. Among them were a critically injured 13-year-old child who had been trapped beneath the wreckage, two adults, a six-month-old baby, and the driver of the tanker.
A frantic two-hour search ensued, during which Mi7 responders tragically discovered the lifeless body of a six-year-old child buried under debris. Later, the remains of an adult female were also recovered, marking a dark day for the community.
Mi7 paramedics confirmed both victims had succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, with questions being raised about vehicle safety, road conditions, and driver accountability.
