Modimolle, Limpopo – A 39-year-old woman, believed to be a foreign national, has been taken into custody following the tragic death of her boyfriend in Freedom Park, Phagameng, within the Modimolle policing jurisdiction.

According to Limpopo police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the couple visited a local tavern last Saturday night. Reports suggest that the boyfriend left the establishment ahead of his partner, returning home alone.

Tragically, the man was discovered the next morning outside their residence with multiple stab wounds to his upper body. Paramedics were called to the scene, where they declared him dead.

“A case of murder has been opened,” confirmed Colonel Ledwaba. “Initial investigations indicate that the suspect and her partner may have engaged in a heated argument on the night prior to the incident, which led to her arrest.”

Both the suspect and the victim are reported to be foreign nationals. Colonel Ledwaba stated that the suspect is expected to appear before the local magistrate’s court shortly as investigations continue.

Provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, condemned the incident, emphasizing the need for couples facing relationship difficulties to seek professional counseling instead of resorting to violence.
