Controversial social media personality Musa Khawula remains in custody following his appearance in the Fochville Regional Court on attempted murder charges. The 33-year-old blogger appeared before Magistrate Fatima Khan on Thursday, 13 February, after his case was transferred from the Fochville Magistrates Court to the regional court earlier this month. The case has been postponed to 21 February for further presentation, with Khawulaβs legal team confirming that they will not be applying for bail at this stage.
Dressed in a white long-sleeve shirt and grey pants, Khawula declined to comment on the charges during his court appearance. Despite previously suggesting he would speak to the media, he stated, “Let me think about it and sleep on it. Maybe I will talk to you. Give me some time,” leaving many questions unanswered. The charges stem from an alleged incident, with more details to emerge as the legal proceedings continue.

This latest legal challenge is just one of many that Musa Khawula is facing. On Tuesday, 18 February, he is scheduled to appear in the Randburg Magistrates Court for allegedly posting defamatory tweets about businessman Zee Nxumalo, the husband of Miss South Africa 2018, Tamaryn Green Nxumalo. The tweets, sent between 10 and 12 October 2024, reportedly targeted Nxumalo, adding to the growing list of accusations against the social media figure.
Khawulaβs legal troubles have escalated in recent months, with the blogger having abandoned two previous bail applications, leaving him behind bars as his court cases continue to mount. The outcome of his upcoming appearances will likely have significant implications for his future, both legally and professionally.
