Anti-corruption watchdog Forensics for Justice has issued a firm warning, urging the immediate suspension of implicated government officials under investigation for alleged misconduct. The organisation argues that allowing these individuals to remain in their positions creates the risk of evidence tampering and continued criminal behaviour.
βIf the officials are not suspended from their duties, they have the opportunity to not only cover their tracks, but also continue to commit further crimes,β Forensics for Justice said in a statement.
The call highlights broader concerns about the integrity of internal investigations and the need for decisive action when public trust is at stake. The organisation has stressed that proactive suspensions are not punitive, but rather a necessary step to ensure transparency, preserve evidence, and protect the credibility of investigative processes.
As scrutiny intensifies over public sector corruption, pressure is mounting on institutions to enforce ethical governance and prevent potential cover-ups within their ranks.
