YANA recently marked its fifth anniversary, celebrating half a decade of making a lasting impact in the community through its dedication and exceptional work.

The You Are Not Alone Women and Family Centre (YANA) recently celebrated its fifth anniversary with a gala dinner that honored the organization’s achievements and the dedicated individuals who have supported its mission. Founded by Jabulile Maseko in October 2020, YANA has made significant strides in providing counselling services to women and families, while also working to prevent gender-based violence through education and outreach.

Over the past five years, YANA has expanded its reach, ensuring that women and children facing difficult situations are not left to cope alone. The anniversary event highlighted the organization’s growth and success, with the board and Maseko presenting awards to staff members in recognition of their hard work and commitment to the community.

The event also saw strong support from local law enforcement, including Sergeant Mkhondo from the Norkem Park Police Station, who praised YANA’s partnership with SAPS. β€œThanks to YANA, victims no longer have to travel far for counselling. Social workers are now available at our station, providing vital support to those in need,” Mkhondo said. The evening reflected YANA’s continued dedication to empowering individuals and fostering stronger, healthier communities.
