DJ Uncle Waffles, born Lungelihle Zwane, has earned a reputation as a global ambassador for Amapiano music, performing in nearly every corner of the world without controversy. However, her recent experience at the For The Love Of Amapiano concert in Kenya left her deeply disappointed, prompting the Eswatini-born star to break her usual silence on such matters.

The event, which was anticipated to celebrate the vibrant Amapiano genre, quickly unraveled due to poor sound quality and disorganized management. Uncle Waffles, known for her professionalism and electrifying performances, was forced to interrupt her set midway to address the technical issues. Speaking candidly to the crowd, she said, β€œThere are too many problems happening on stage. I can’t hear sht. I don’t want you guys to say I came and didn’t play; it’s not my fault. I am here; they are not fixing it, but I am here.

The Wadibusa hitmaker later issued a formal statement, expressing her disappointment with the event’s execution. Her concerns extended beyond the stage to how her supporters were treated during the event. β€œWhat has disappointed me most is how my supporters were treated by the organisers and security,” she shared. β€œPeople were pushed around, mishandled, and treated with the least amount of care, and that is something I will not stand for.”

Uncle Waffles highlighted the unsafe conditions fans endured, criticizing the lack of basic care and professionalism from the event organizers. In a heartfelt plea, she urged promoters to prioritize the safety and satisfaction of attendees moving forward.

β€œTo the event organisers, you have not only disappointed me but also let down the 10,000+ people who came out in support of this event,” she said. β€œI urge you to do better if you have any desire to continue putting events together in the future. Kenya, I hope to see you again soon with a much better outcome. It was fun while it lasted; you were all an amazing crowd.”

Despite the challenges, Uncle Waffles maintained her gratitude and admiration for her Kenyan fans, who showed unwavering support during the chaotic event. Her message serves as a call to action for better event management, emphasizing that both fans and artists deserve respect and professionalism.

As one of Amapiano’s brightest stars, Uncle Waffles continues to shine a light on the genre while standing firm for the values of respect, safety, and quality experiences for her audience. Fans across the globe can only hope her next visit to Kenya will reflect the excellence she consistently delivers on stage.
