The wedding season in Limpopo has been filled with luxurious ceremonies, and one of the most extravagant celebrations took place recently. Tshepo Lerobane, a 43-year-old traditional healer and farmer, and his 31-year-old bride, Reshoketswe, celebrated their union in a spectacular two-day affair. Dubbed the “Wedding of the Year,” their ceremony took place from November 29 to December 1 in the Sekhukhune district, at Eenzaam and Leeukraal Ga-Kgoloko.
The couple’s celebrations included an impressive helicopter entrance, costing R75,000, adding to the nearly half a million rand spent on the wedding. Tshepoβs dedication to the event was evident in the meticulous planning that took eight months to complete. The total expenditure included R120,000 for lobola and 10 cows valued at R147,000.

Reshoketswe expressed her amazement and happiness, saying, “I still can’t believe this is happening to me. Love wins all the time.” Tshepo, emphasizing the importance of love in marriage, shared his belief that young couples should prioritize love and respect over financial status. He noted that when marriages are built on materialistic motives, they often face difficulties that can lead to divorce.
Community leader Kgoshi Mahlaku Maserumole also expressed support for the couple, highlighting the importance of harmony in relationships while raising awareness about domestic violence in the area. He concluded, “I believe the two of you will live together in harmony,” offering his blessings to the newlyweds.
