Lerato Modise, a former Big Brother Mzansi contestant, recently reacted to the unexpected eviction of Ashley Ogle from Season 5 of the reality show. Lerato, who had become fond of Ashley throughout her journey, expressed her sadness after hearing about Ashleyβs sudden departure. “I shed a tear,” Lerato admitted, recalling how she felt when she received a text from her sister that read, “What happened to Ashley is exactly what happened to you.” This message deeply affected Lerato, who had grown attached to Ashleyβs love triangle storyline with Sweet Guluva.

Lerato, who was in a relationship with housemate Papa Ghost during her time on the show, empathized with Ashley’s situation. “In my case, my fate was in my hands, but with Ashley, it was in someone elseβs hands, and that made me sad for her,” she shared. She also addressed rumors that her appearance on the show just before Ashley’s eviction was a hint about what was to come, firmly denying the speculation. “It was a genuine invite as a former contestant, and I can’t control what people say,” Lerato explained.

If she had the chance to meet Ashley, Lerato said she would offer a comforting hug and encourage her to remain strong. “She probably feels like the world is against her, but the only person who can truly comfort her right now is herself,” Lerato said, adding that she believed Ashley missed Sweet Guluva, just as she had once longed for Papa Ghost. Despite the ups and downs, Lerato emphasized that she and Papa Ghost are now good friends.
Beyond her reality TV fame, Lerato is focusing on new projects, including a movie titled VEX: Superheroes Within, which features kids with disabilities becoming superheroes. She also continues her community outreach work, recently donating school shoes and pads to disadvantaged schools. Despite the challenges of the spotlight, Lerato remains dedicated to both her personal growth and giving back to her community.
