Kat Sinivasan, known for his time as a YoTV presenter, is stepping into a new role that pushes him outside his usual presenting style. Heβs landed a presenting gig on Mzansi Magicβs exciting new reality dating competition, The Catch. The show features 16 contestantsβeight women and eight menβwith the ladies on a quest to find their perfect match. However, thereβs a twist: among the bachelors, some are impostors, and the women must work together to figure out who is real and who is not.
The drama intensifies as the contestants stay together in one house, facing elimination while navigating the tricky dynamics of love, trust, and competition. Sinivasan revealed that thereβs a major plot twist regarding the R500,000 prize: if a woman chooses the right man, she wins the money. But, if she selects an imposter, the imposter walks away with the prize.
Kat shared his excitement for the new challenge, as the show is different from the calmer formats heβs used to. βReality TV and dating shows like Survivor and Love Island are some of my favorites, so when I got this opportunity, I was thrilled,β he said. He enjoyed being forced to step outside his comfort zone and develop a fresh style for the showβs unique demands.
With its fresh concept rooted in local culture, Kat believes The Catch will be a hit with South African audiences. “It’s an original idea with Mzansi written all over it,” he said. The showβs premiere is set for 16 February at 9pm, promising plenty of twists, drama, and surprises for viewers.
