Gareth Cliff has vehemently denied recent allegations accusing him of spiking actress and singer Mara Louw’s drink. The controversial South African media personality was accused of spiking Louw’s drink with vodka during an episode of Idols SA, leading to her becoming drunk on national television. The incident allegedly resulted in Louw being fired, with the accuser claiming that Cliff dismissed the situation by labeling her an alcoholic.

Not one to remain silent, Cliff took to social media to address the accusation. In a direct response to the online user who made the claim, the former Idols SA judge refuted the allegations, labeling them as “entirely untrue” and stating that they were defamatory. He made it clear that he would be pursuing legal action against the individual responsible for spreading the false accusations.

Cliff’s response comes after a string of controversies, including accusations of racism following his comments on the opinions of Donald Trump and Elon Musk regarding South Africa. Despite the criticism, the media personality has consistently defended himself, rejecting claims of wrongdoing and maintaining his stance on controversial issues.

In his tweet, Cliff left no room for ambiguity, stating, “This is defamation. Hope you have some lawyers handy. We’ll be in touch.” As the situation develops, it seems likely that legal action will follow, further intensifying the media storm surrounding Cliff.
