On December 26, 2024, a FlySafair flight from Durban to Cape Town was disrupted by a female passenger’s aggressive behavior, allegedly due to intoxication. A video shared by TikTok user @420.sedira captures the incident, where the woman reportedly threw a drink at one flight attendant and pushed another. She also accused the crew of racism and used slurs. At one point, she removed her wig and declared, “You don’t know who my father is.”
The situation escalated to the extent that police were called to board the aircraft, leading the woman off the plane. FlySafair’s Chief Marketing Officer, Kirby Gordon, condemned the behavior, emphasizing that flight attendants are primarily safety officers and that interfering with their duties is a criminal offense. He stated that the passenger would be placed on the airline’s no-fly list, barring her from future FlySafair flights.
