Police officers combing the area discovered Ntaka’s lifeless body hanging from a tree on Wednesday morning, 18 December 2024. The suspected killer had reportedly committed suicide.
The incident began with a reported murder on a gravel road in the Malangeni area. Police found the 25-year-old victim lying in the middle of the road, her body covered in blood and multiple stab wounds visible on her neck. A broken knife, believed to be the murder weapon, was found next to her body.
According to police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda, the suspect had fetched the woman from her home earlier, and they might have gotten into an argument that escalated into murder. The alleged killer’s vehicle, a white VW Polo, was found abandoned down the road, with blood on the front passenger seat suggesting the murder occurred inside the car
Police are investigating a case of murder, and an inquest into Ntaka’s death will be opened for further investigation. The community is left to grapple with the shocking events, and the incident serves as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of domestic violence.
