In a dramatic early-morning incident at his Westonaria residence, Acting Gauteng Provincial Commissioner General Fred Kekana narrowly escaped an attempted hijacking. According to Kekana, his driver—on his way to pick him up—noticed a suspicious BMW tailing him closely. As the driver prepared to park, a passenger from the BMW suddenly smashed the car window with an iron rod, not realizing the vehicle was fitted with shatterproof glass.
Undeterred, the driver quickly defended himself, prompting the attackers to panic and drop their firearm before fleeing the scene.
