Premier Soccer League General Manager Andile “Ace” Ncobo has been released on warning following his court appearance at the Kempton Park Magistrates’ Court on a domestic violence-related charge.
Ncobo was arrested on June 28 after a disturbing incident at a private residence in Kempton Park. The complainant alleged that Ncobo slapped her several times and forcefully threw her onto a bed during a heated altercation. The incident was reported at the Sebenza police station, and police arrested Ncobo at the scene.
Although the complainant has since withdrawn her statement and testified in court that Ncobo does not pose a threat to her, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has made it clear the case will continue. The decision aligns with the NPA’s firm stance on domestic violence, which prioritizes victim protection and discourages case withdrawals—even when complainants recant.
Ncobo, a prominent figure in South African football, was released without bail under a warning, as the matter awaits further investigation. The case has been postponed to September 7, 2025.
As public figures continue to face scrutiny over private conduct, this case highlights the increasing commitment of South African authorities to uphold justice in domestic violence matters—regardless of public profile or personal reconciliations.
