Businesswoman and TV personality Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize is facing explosive forgery and fraud allegations, with claims that she illegally used her sister’s identity to acquire Royal AM Football Club and register several companies—allegedly in an attempt to shield assets from her estranged husband during a messy divorce.
The damning accusations are detailed in a report by News24 and stem from a sworn affidavit submitted by Nosipho Ngubo, MaMkhize’s sister, to the Durban High Court on 2 July 2025. Ngubo alleges that MaMkhize forged her signature and used her personal information while she was incapacitated—recovering from a hysterectomy and battling COVID-19 in 2020.
According to Ngubo, she was unknowingly listed as a director or representative in a number of entities, including Royal AM, Lungza Management Consultants, Igugu Logcwabe Business Enterprise, Ukwakhiwa Group, and the MaMkhize Foundation.
The motive? Allegedly, to hide assets during divorce proceedings from Sbu Mpisane, who was claiming half of the marital estate. The scheme, if proven, would expose MaMkhize to serious criminal and financial consequences.
The scandal comes at an already precarious moment for MaMkhize, who is under investigation by the South African Revenue Service (SARS) for nearly R40 million in unpaid taxes. In a dramatic twist, SARS has frozen Ngubo’s personal accounts and seized movable assets, seeking to recover R12 million in tax debts tied to companies she insists she never agreed to be part of.
Ngubo and her husband have reportedly been left in financial ruin, unable to meet basic living expenses due to the asset seizures.
Meanwhile, Royal AM, the football club MaMkhize once paraded as a symbol of success and reinvention, has been placed under curatorship and now faces potential liquidation due to mounting financial distress.
MaMkhize has yet to comment publicly on the allegations. However, with court proceedings imminent and investigations intensifying, the fallout could be severe—not just for her public image but for the entire Mkhize business empire, once hailed as a model of black entrepreneurial success.
