Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) National Spokesperson and Member of Parliament Sinawo Thambo delivered a fiery critique of the 2025 Division of Revenue Bill during proceedings in the National Assembly. Rejecting the bill outright, Thambo accused the DA, ActionSA, Rise Mzansi, and the BOSA-led Standing Committee on Appropriations of betraying the South African public.
Thambo charged that procedural irregularities marred the bill’s passage and that the fiscal framework failed to address the pressing challenges faced by the country’s poor and working-class citizens. Highlighting unemployment, economic inequality, and inadequate service delivery, he condemned the bill as a betrayal of South Africa’s constitutional values.
Aligning with the EFF’s broader opposition to the 2025 budget process, Thambo emphasized the need for a fundamental reset to ensure transparency, fairness, and genuine prioritization of marginalized communities.
His remarks underscore the deep divisions within Parliament over the country’s fiscal direction and the ongoing battle over how resources should be allocated amid growing socio-economic challenges.
