Education Minister Siviwe Gwarube has highlighted the urgent need for collective responsibility in tackling the rising problem of learner misconduct and disrespect towards teachers.
Speaking out, Minister Gwarube stressed that effective discipline starts beyond the classroom, urging parents, schools, and communities to unite in shaping positive learner behavior. She noted that a learner’s attitude at school is often a reflection of their upbringing and home environment.
“Schools cannot solve these challenges alone,” Gwarube said. “It takes a strong partnership with families and communities to build respect and discipline that enable a safe and productive learning environment.”
