Waterloo, KZN β In the early hours of the morning, six armed suspects carried out a daring robbery at a tavern on Pricklepear Road, leaving employees traumatized but physically unharmed.
According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), officers responded to a distress call at approximately 00:46 AM. Upon arrival, they discovered that the robbery had just taken place, with the perpetrators already having fled the scene.
Reports indicate that the armed men entered the tavern as staff were locking up for the night. Brandishing firearms, they held two female employees at gunpoint and demanded valuables. The suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and a Samsung A35 smartphone.
Before fleeing in an unknown direction, the robbers locked the employees inside the premises. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.
Investigation Underway
Law enforcement officials have launched a full investigation. Authorities are appealing to the public for assistance in tracking down the suspects.
βWe urge anyone with information that could assist in identifying or locating the suspects to come forward,β a RUSA spokesperson said.
