A violent business robbery has left three Pakistani nationals seriously injured after they were shot during a brazen daytime attack at their salon on Katzkop Drive earlier today.
The incident unfolded shortly after 1 p.m., when three armed suspects stormed the premises, held up the victims, and robbed them of cash and mobile phones. In a particularly chilling twist, the assailants allegedly placed pillows against the victims’ backs before opening fire, an apparent effort to muffle the gunshots.
All three victims sustained gunshot wounds with both entry and exit points, indicating the use of high-velocity rounds. The motive appears to be robbery, but the level of violence has shocked the local community.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) responded swiftly, and paramedics are currently on scene, providing emergency care and stabilizing the wounded men.
“It was a calculated and cruel act. They weren’t just robbing—they meant to kill,” said one bystander.
At this time, it remains unclear whether the suspects fled on foot or in a getaway vehicle. An investigation is underway, and authorities are appealing to anyone with information or surveillance footage to contact local law enforcement.
