👨⚖️ Advocate Charles Mnisi, representing accused individual Sibiya, is scheduled to begin cross-examining Brigadier Bongani Gininda, the lead investigator who has been under oath since late 2024. The judge himself has remarked on Gininda’s unusually long stint on the witness stand, which has drawn increasing scrutiny from both legal teams and observers.
At the last sitting, the trial hit yet another snag when Mnisi requested crucial data—specifically the automatic vehicle location (AVL) information for the police vehicles that transported Sibiya after his arrest in 2020. This AVL data could play a pivotal role in challenging the timeline and procedures followed by law enforcement at the time.
