Upington, Northern Cape โ What began as a distress call turned into a moment of unexpected joy when police officers responding to cries for help discovered a woman in labour โ and stepped in to help deliver her baby.

According to SAPS, officers were dispatched to a local residence after neighbours reported hearing a woman screaming inside a locked house. Fearing the worst, police kicked down the door and rushed inside โ only to find the woman in active labour.
Heroic Response in a Critical Moment

With no time to waste, one officer ran to call for medical assistance while the other remained behind to support and guide the woman through childbirth. Moments later, a healthy baby was born โ thanks in part to the calm and courageous actions of the officers on scene.
Emergency services soon arrived to take over, and both mother and baby were safely transported to a nearby hospital, where they are reportedly doing well.
