The Miss South Africa Organisation has officially announced that it will not be sending a representative to the Miss Supranational 2025 pageant, set to take place in June in Poland. The statement, released on Wednesday, thanked supporters for their unwavering loyalty and expressed appreciation for the public’s understanding.

This development marks the second consecutive year that reigning Miss South Africa, Mia le Roux, will not compete on the international stage. In 2024, she withdrew from Miss Universe due to health-related concerns, and her absence from Miss Supranational continues that trend.

The decision has ignited mixed reactions across social media and pageant communities. While many fans expressed empathy for Le Roux and support for the organisation’s decision, others voiced disappointment at South Africa’s continued absence from global beauty platforms.

Though no specific reason was cited for the 2025 withdrawal, speculation continues around the possible strategic or logistical challenges influencing the move. The Miss South Africa Organisation has yet to confirm whether a representative will be selected for other international pageants this year.

Supporters now look to the upcoming Miss South Africa 2025 competition, hopeful that a return to the international circuit may still be on the horizon.
