Temple Valley Community and RUSA Team Up to Rescue Trapped Puppy
A heartwarming rescue unfolded in Temple Valley, KwaZulu-Natal, on Friday when a male puppy was pulled to safety from a stormwater drain along Tower Road.
The drama began when a local resident heard faint cries echoing from beneath a manhole and quickly alerted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA). Responding without delay, Reaction Officers rushed to the scene to investigate.
Once there, officers located the source of the sounds and carefully removed the manhole cover. To their relief, they found a frightened but unharmed puppy trapped inside the drain. The rescue team gently lifted the pup to safety.
Fortunately, the little dog appeared to be in good health, showing no visible injuries despite his ordeal. It remains unclear how the puppy ended up in the drain, but his survival is being hailed as a lucky escape.
The rescue has drawn praise from local residents, with many commending both the observant caller and the swift response by RUSA for ensuring the puppyβs safe recovered.
