Western Cape police have issued a R100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Vuyo Tshukela, known by the alias “Yeso”, a suspected taxi hitman linked to a string of murders that have rocked the provinceβs most volatile areas.
According to Provincial Police Spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie, Tshukela is wanted in connection with at least four murders committed in Nyanga, Delft, and Philippi East since August 2024 β areas long plagued by taxi-related violence and gang activity.

βThis is a high-priority suspect,β Pojie said. βWe are appealing to the public for credible information that could lead to his capture.β
Deadly Taxi Feuds Fuel Violence
The murders are believed to be tied to ongoing turf wars in the taxi industry, which have contributed to escalating gun violence and instability across parts of the Western Cape. Law enforcement has intensified operations aimed at dismantling hit squads allegedly hired by rival taxi associations.
Tshukela, described as armed and dangerous, has so far eluded capture despite months of active surveillance and investigative efforts. Police warn that anyone assisting or harbouring him could also face prosecution.
Public Urged to Come Forward
Authorities are calling on residents to report any sightings or information about Tshukelaβs whereabouts by contacting Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or using the My SAPS mobile app, assuring full confidentiality and protection of informants.
With a R100,000 reward now on the table, officials hope the publicβs cooperation will lead to a breakthrough in what is becoming one of the regionβs most pressing criminal manhunts
