Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are both eyeing the same striker, and Richards Bayβs Yanela Mbuthuma is at the center of the competition.
Pirates Ready to Make Their Move for Mbuthuma
Mbuthuma has been on Kaizer Chiefs’ radar for weeks, with the striker being a top target for Amakhosi as they look to strengthen their attack for next season. But now, the battle for his signature has intensified, as Soweto rivals Pirates are also keen to sign him.
According to sources, the Buccaneers are preparing to make an offer for the Richards Bay forward. “There are several players the club is looking at for next season, but the striker position is their priority, and Mbuthuma is at the top of the list,” an insider revealed to SoccerLaduma.
With both Chiefs and Pirates in the race, the Bucs are reportedly ready to edge out Amakhosi by making their offer first. “Iβm not sure about the exact amount, but Pirates are keen to sign him and are making a serious push. Chiefs are also interested, which gives Pirates an advantage in this battle,” the insider added.
A Pricey Move
Mbuthuma wonβt come cheap, however. His current transfer market value is estimated at around R12 million (R11.6 million), which means any club looking to secure his services will need to dig deep.
