Leslie “Da L.E.S.” Mampe, the award-winning rapper and producer, is on the path to recovery after suffering a stroke just a day before his birthday celebrations in July last year. The All Eyes On Me hitmaker, who faced a significant health scare, has now left South Africa and relocated to Washington D.C. to continue his recovery under the care of his mother, Priscillar Mampe.
The stroke, which impacted Da L.E.S.’s mobility, left him hospitalized for over a month. Following his discharge, he spent some time at his Johannesburg home, which was reportedly up for sale. However, seeking additional support and better medical care, Da L.E.S. has now moved to the United States, where his mother has been living for years. A close family friend shared that Leslie is not unfamiliar with the area, as he was born in the US and frequently visited his mother.

Before his move, Da L.E.S. was surrounded by love and support from friends and industry colleagues. L-Tido, Cassper Nyovest, and Pastor Kabelo Mabalane all paid him a visit to offer their well-wishes. A friend present during the visit recalled Pastor Kabelo leading a heartfelt prayer for Da L.E.S.’s recovery. “We had a prayer for his recovery; he is doing very well, and we can’t wait to have him up and back in the game again,” the friend said. “He is grateful to be alive, and so are we.”
As Da L.E.S. focuses on his health and healing, his fans and friends eagerly await his return, ready to support his comeback to the music scene.
