Singer Amanda Black has come forward to address and dispel rumors that recently spread on social media, claiming that she was sexually assaulted by fellow musician Jabulani “Sjava” Radebe. The rumors, which have gone viral, left Amanda shocked, prompting her to clarify that the allegations are entirely false.

In a statement, Amanda expressed her confusion over the origin of the claims, which suggest that Sjava sexually assaulted her. She emphasized that the accusations are far from the truth. β€œSjava did not sexually assault me. I have no idea where these rumors came from, but they are not true and did not come from me,” Amanda said. The two artists had worked together under the Ambitiouz Entertainment label, collaborating on the track Phumelela alongside Miss Pru and Saudi before Amanda left the label in 2018.

The singer’s statement comes as a direct response to the damaging rumors, seeking to clear both her name and that of the Sayona singer. The accusations have stirred confusion, especially given their history as collaborators in the South African music scene.

This is not the first time Sjava has faced sexual assault allegations. In 2020, former lover and fellow artist Lady Zamar accused him of raping her in 2017 after a concert in Thohoyondou, Limpopo. She detailed a harrowing account of the alleged incident, describing how she was physically attacked while defenseless. However, the case was dismissed by the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) due to insufficient evidence. NPA spokesperson Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi confirmed that the charges were dropped, stating, β€œThe facts or evidence do not support a successful prosecution.”

In response to both the rumors and past allegations, Sjava has consistently denied any wrongdoing, stating that he has never sexually abused any woman. β€œI am not a rapist. I have for years been advocating against abuse of any kind, be it women or children abuse, even alcohol abuse,” he affirmed.

The viral rumors about Amanda Black and Sjava appear to have been an attempt at defamation, and both artists are actively working to protect their reputations against false accusations. Amanda’s statement stands as a powerful message that such claims should not be taken lightly and reminds the public of the importance of verifying information before believing or spreading it.
