Jacob Zuma’s family has issued a stern warning to Nonkanyiso Conco, the mother of his child, urging her to stop publicly revealing intimate details about their past relationship. This follows a series of video clips shared by Conco, in which she opens up about her experiences with the former president, including their first meeting while Zuma was still in office.
In one of the videos, Conco, who gained fame as a cast member of The Real Housewives of Durban, recounts her initial encounter with Zuma. “JZ (Zuma) is a gentleman. The first time I visited him, we slept late, and the next morning, he was up very early. He had already bathed when I woke up. He expressed his excitement that I had visited him,” Conco said in the clip, sparking public debate and media buzz about the personal nature of her revelations.
Zuma, who is now the leader of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP), has remained largely silent on the matter, but his family is clearly concerned about the impact these public disclosures may have on his legacy and family privacy. Khanya Zuma, Zuma’s brother, voiced his disapproval in an exclusive interview with the Daily News.
“It is not right for any person to reveal bedroom secrets to the entire world. She must stop what she is doing. I don’t like what she (Conco) is doing,” said Khanya, calling out Conco’s actions for undermining the values of respect and trust in family relationships. He emphasized that while emotions may sometimes lead to hurtful public statements, it’s crucial to protect the dignity of all involved, particularly their child.
Zuma, known for his desire to keep his personal affairs private, has yet to comment publicly on the matter. Khanya made it clear that he plans to address the issue with his brother privately, stating, “I will talk to him when he is not busy, about this serious matter.”
Conco’s statements, including claims that Zuma paid lobola for her, have raised questions about her motivations for sharing such private details. Despite numerous attempts to reach her for comment, Conco’s phone has remained unanswered, and the MKP spokesperson has yet to respond.
