The 52-year-old, multi-award-winning actress from Umlazi, Durban, says it was part of God’s plan for her return to Jozi. Despite previously stating that she wouldn’t work in Johannesburg again after relocating for Uzalo, Baby is excited about the opportunity. She received a call to join Genesis, which she believes was a sign that it was meant to be.
Known for her extensive acting career, Baby Cele is thrilled about her new character in Genesis. Although she’s back in Joburg for work, Baby is still committed to her roots in Durban, where she practices her ubungoma duties. She shared that she sought permission from her ancestors before taking on this new project. “I go back to Durban to practice my ubungoma duties,” she explained, indicating that her spiritual practices remain an essential part of her life.
