Three men were arrested in Isipingo, south of Durban, on Saturday morning after they were spotted transporting a body in a wheelbarrow. The men were seen pushing the wheelbarrow along Mahes Road, in Malabar Hills, by members of PT Alarms, who immediately stopped to investigate the suspicious activity.

Upon further inspection, it was discovered that the men were carrying the body of a male, believed to be in his 30s. Although there were no visible signs of injury on the deceased, the cause of death remains unclear. When questioned, the men gave conflicting accounts of what had happened, leading to their detention by the PT Alarms members until police arrived at the scene.
KZN police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshuinda confirmed the arrest of the three men, who now face charges of tampering with a dead body and defeating the ends of justice. The men could not provide a satisfactory explanation for why they were transporting the decomposed body in the wheelbarrow, further raising suspicion about their involvement in the death.
The incident has left many questions unanswered, with authorities now working to uncover the circumstances surrounding the man’s death and the motives behind the men’s actions. The three suspects are expected to appear in court soon to face the charges against them.
