A 54-year-old man tragically lost his life in a violent altercation at a pub in Shelley Beach on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast on Wednesday night, February 12, 2025. The incident unfolded when a dispute led to a shooting, and a 38-year-old man was arrested by Port Shepstone police in connection with the crime.

According to KZN police spokesperson Robert Netshuinda, the arrest took place shortly after the fatal incident, but the motive behind the shooting remains unclear. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deadly confrontation.
Emergency services, including paramedics from KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service, were dispatched to the scene of the shooting. Chris Botha, a spokesperson for the ambulance service, reported that upon arrival, they found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite their efforts to assist, the man was already deceased by the time paramedics reached him.
