Innocentia “Inno” Morolong, a social media influencer and reality TV star, is once again in legal trouble. After being sentenced to 12 months of house arrest last month for crimen injuria and defamation, Morolong now faces additional defamation charges brought by her former lover, Metro FM DJ Paul Mtirara. This case follows closely behind her conviction for charges initiated by fellow actress Tebogo Thobejane.

Mtirara, 48, filed the defamation case against Morolong at the Douglasdale Police Station, two weeks before her sentencing for the previous charges. The Metro FM DJ claims that their brief friendship, which began in September 2024, soured by the end of October due to Morolong’s behavior. According to Mtirara’s police statement, after ending the friendship, Morolong allegedly began harassing him, with the DJ even providing WhatsApp messages as evidence of her actions.
The situation escalated on January 12, when Morolong allegedly broadcasted a live video on her Instagram, making false and defamatory accusations against Mtirara. The incident occurred at Fourways Crossing mall in Johannesburg. Mtirara has accused Morolong of damaging his reputation by publicly making degrading allegations. The police have confirmed that an investigation is underway, though no arrests have been made at this time.
The defamation case follows a period of media speculation regarding the nature of Morolong and Mtirara’s relationship. Earlier last year, a video surfaced showing the two dining together at a high-end restaurant, fueling dating rumors. However, Morolong remained tight-lipped about the nature of their connection, citing her desire to keep her personal life private. As the case continues, Morolong’s legal troubles seem far from over.
