Introduction:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our accounting firm. This role requires handling diverse accounting tasks for multiple clients, utilizing accounting software such as Xero, Sage, and Pastel. If you have solid accounting knowledge and are passionate about maintaining accurate financial records, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage accurate financial records for various clients.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, manage invoices and reconcile bank statements.
- Assist in preparing financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets.
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and ensure data accuracy.
- Perform account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy.
- Prepare VAT, payroll, and other financial filings as required.
- Collaborate with team members and virtual clients to ensure timely completion of client projects.
- Handle client information with the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Respond promptly and professionally to client queries.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficient in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, and Pastel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, terminology, and bookkeeping practices.
- High accuracy in numerical and data entry tasks, with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and tasks efficiently.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of productivity.
Qualifications:
- A degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Proven experience in bookkeeping and/or accounting roles.
- Experience working with cloud-based accounting software (Xero, Sage).
- Previous experience working with virtual clients is an added advantage.
