About ASSET
Founded in 2003, ASSET is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering disadvantaged students through education. With a rich history of assisting over 500 students annually, ASSET’s bursary program is made possible by generous local, national, and international donors.
Bursary Details
ASSET invites students to apply for the 2025 academic year. Bursaries cover a portion of tuition fees, registration, and books for undergraduate studies in ANY field at:
- University of Cape Town
- University of the Western Cape
- University of Stellenbosch
- Cape Peninsula University of Technology
Eligibility Requirements
- South African citizenship
- Residence in the Western Cape
- Currently in Matric or completed Matric
- Studying or intending to study full-time towards a first undergraduate qualification
- Meet the criteria for your selected field of study
- Family income between R350,000 and R600,000 per annum
- Not receiving NSFAS funding due to poor performance exclusion
Preference Will Be Given To
- Students with the greatest financial need
- Rural or informal settlement residents
- Students from ‘dysfunctional’ schools
- High-achieving students
- ASSET Learner Development Programme participants
