The DSI-NRF Postgraduate Scholarship for 2025 is now open for applications. This scholarship is jointly administered by the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI) and the National Research Foundation (NRF) to promote excellence in postgraduate research aligned with South Africa’s national priorities.
Eligible Fields of Study:
Science, Engineering, Technology, Social Sciences, and Humanities ¹
Eligibility Requirements:
- You must be a South African citizen or permanent resident.
- You must meet the NRF minimum academic requirements: 65% average for your previous degree.
- You must be 28 or younger for Honours, 30 or younger for Master’s, and 32 or younger for Doctoral studies.
- You must pursue full-time postgraduate studies at a South African public university.
Application Process:
- Submit your application online through the NRF Connect System.
- Create a profile and fill out the online form.
- Upload required documents, including certified copies of your academic transcripts and degree certificates, a research proposal, and letters of support from your supervisor and academic head.
Closing Dates:
- First-time Master’s: 5 July 2024
- First-time Doctoral: 5 July 2024
- Master’s and Doctoral Extension Support: 15 September 2024
- Honours (General): 22 November 2024
