Siyabonga Ngezana’s agent has confirmed the release clause for the FCSB defender, who continues to impress in Europe and could secure a major transfer in the near future.
The former Kaizer Chiefs player, currently playing for Romanian giants FCSB, is attracting interest from various European clubs, with speculation mounting about a potential move next summer. FCSB, the defending SuperLiga champions, are doing well in the UEFA Europa League, having won three of their four matches. Ngezana has featured in two of these games—a 4-0 loss to Scottish side Glasgow Rangers and a 2-0 win over Denmark’s Midtjylland.
Ngezana’s current contract with FCSB runs until June 2027, but his agent, Florin Vulturar, confirmed that the release clause is set at €10 million (approximately R193 million), with Kaizer Chiefs also holding a 10% sell-on fee. This could open the door for a significant transfer if Ngezana maintains his high level of performances.
Vulturar revealed to Fanatik that interest in Ngezana has been growing. “The interest has definitely increased. If he continues performing well, we could talk about a transfer next summer,” Vulturar said. “If FCSB continues to achieve good results in Europe, Ngezana will attract even more attention. The release clause stands at €10 million, and there are many clubs asking about him, but until summer, there won’t be any transfer talks.”
As Ngezana continues to shine in Europe, it seems increasingly likely that FCSB may have to contend with offers for the 27-year-old defender, with a move next summer appearing more plausible.
