In addition to his nomination for Player of the Year, Williams is also in contention for two other awards: Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year, alongside Andre Onana and Yahia Fofana, and the CAF Inter-Club Player of the Year, where he will compete against Ahmed Zizo and Hussein El Shahat. Williams’ incredible form earned him the Premier Soccer League Player of the Season award last campaign and a place in the top ten best goalkeepers at the 2024 Ballon d’Or.

His competition for the main award includes Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman, Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi, Guinea’s Serhou Guirassy, and Ivory Coast’s Simon Adingra, with Lookman widely regarded as a favorite to win. Williams is expected to make a strong challenge for at least one of the categories he is nominated for.
