Wydad Casablanca coach Rhulani Mokwena marked his 38th birthday in style, bringing some fun and laughter to his new team by belting out the lyrics to Adele’s hit song Someone Like You during a training session. The former Mamelodi Sundowns coach delighted his squad with an impromptu performance as they celebrated his special day on Thursday, January 9, 2025. Mokwena’s light-hearted moment with the team was shared by fans across South Africa and Morocco, who took to social media to wish him a happy birthday.
Since taking over at Wydad Casablanca, Mokwena has had a mixed start, with seven wins from 17 league matches. His side is currently sitting in sixth place on the Botola Pro 1 log. While his early days in North Africa were challenging, Mokwena has remained popular among the Wydad faithful, and his latest display of personality and humor has only strengthened his bond with the squad. Despite rumors of potential uncertainty regarding his future at the club, Mokwena’s adaptability and connection with the team continue to shine through.
