Orlando Pirates look set to make a bold statement ahead of the 2025/26 season by snapping up two Bafana Bafana stars.
According to journalist Sinethemba Makonco, the Buccaneers are on the verge of sealing a deal for Chippa United’s breakout midfielder Sinoxolo Kwayiba. The 25-year-old has been one of the standout performers in the Betway Premiership this season, with seven goals in 22 appearances, consistently putting in match-winning displays for the Chilli Boys.
His form didn’t go unnoticed either – Kwayiba earned a call-up to Hugo Broos’ Bafana Bafana squad and impressed on debut during South Africa’s 5-0 rout of Congo Brazzaville at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
📝 Deal Almost Done
Pirates and Chippa United have reportedly agreed on the transfer, with only personal terms left to be finalized. If all goes according to plan, Kwayiba will officially become a Buccaneer in July 2025.
🛑 Kaizer Chiefs Set to Miss Out – Again?
But that’s not all – Pirates are also targeting Fawaaz Basadien, the highly-rated Stellenbosch FC left-back, who’s been on Kaizer Chiefs’ radar for some time. Despite interest from the Glamour Boys, sources suggest the Buccaneers are now front-runners to land the 28-year-old.
“Chiefs tried, but no agreement was reached. Pirates are coming in strong now. If nothing changes, he could be heading to Mayfair after the season ends,” said a source close to the player.
🔥 Pirates Aren’t Playing Around
The message is loud and clear – Pirates are building for domination. With Kwayiba almost secured and Basadien next in line, their transfer ambition is putting rivals on red alert. Chiefs, Sundowns, and the rest of the league will be watching closely as the Sea Robbers gear up for what could be a massive season.
