Orlando Pirates have reportedly joined the race to secure the signature of promising young defender Samukelo Kabini. The 20-year-old, who currently plays for TS Galaxy, has become an integral part of their defense, helping his team secure a fourth-place position in the league, tied with Kaizer Chiefs and Sekhukhune United.

Pirates Interested in Kabini’s Potential Despite being the latest team to show interest, Pirates are said to be closely monitoring Kabini’s development. A source close to the situation revealed, “Pirates have been keeping an eye on Kabini, and so far, he has made a strong impression. It’s possible that they could make an official approach once the season concludes.”

Maswanganyi’s European Move on the Horizon? Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates’ playmaker Patrick Maswanganyi is reportedly considering a return to Europe, with his former club UD Oliveirense expressing interest in bringing him back. Sources confirm that negotiations are already underway.

The Portuguese club is keen to have Maswanganyi back, impressed with his progress. However, the major obstacle remains the hefty R40 million price tag Pirates have placed on him. The decision now lies with Oliveirense, who would need to meet or surpass this valuation for a deal to materialize.
