Orlando Pirates are reportedly closing in on a major signing ahead of the upcoming transfer window, with Bafana Bafana midfielder Sinoxolo Kwayiba believed to be one of their top targets.

The Chippa United star has been linked to the Buccaneers for several months now, and sources suggest that Pirates are taking the lead in securing his services. According to iDiski Times, the club is in advanced talks to bring the talented midfielder to Mayfair, with negotiations progressing rapidly.

Pirates are reportedly willing to sweeten the deal with a player exchange, as well as a financial offer, in a bid to convince Chippa United to part with their star player. “Pirates have been the most proactive in their pursuit of Kwayiba,” a source revealed. “The technical team has been impressed by his performances, which is why they are considering offering players as part of the deal to seal the transfer.”

One of the players potentially included in the swap deal could be Baloni, who is currently on loan at Chippa from Pirates, while another option could be Mosele, who is recovering from injury but could still be loaned out by the club.

Kwayiba, who is valued at around R7 million by Transfermarkt, is seen as a key addition to Pirates’ midfield, further strengthening the squad as they aim to make a significant push in the upcoming season.
