Phuti Mohafe, the head coach of Polokwane City, has sent a strong message following his team’s 2-0 victory over Kaizer Chiefs, which lifted them to third place in the PSL standings. The 50-year-old tactician, who masterminded the win against Chiefs, emphasized that there is no need for Polokwane City to underestimate themselves despite their relatively smaller stature compared to some of the PSL’s bigger clubs.
“We shouldn’t look down on ourselves and think we’re still a small team,” Mohafe said. “We must perform just as well against any team, whether they are considered small or big because points are all the same.” With their place in the top three now secured, he highlighted the importance of continuing to work hard to maintain their position in the league and ensure their spot in the top eight.
Mohafe’s victory over Kaizer Chiefs saw the Soweto giants remain in ninth place, continuing their struggles under Nasreddine Nabi’s leadership. The win marks an important achievement for Polokwane City as they aim to secure a strong finish in the league this season. Mohafe’s leadership continues to prove effective as he focuses on building his team’s confidence and pushing them to perform consistently at the highest level.
