AmaZulu FC secured a hard-earned 2-1 victory over SuperSport United in a Betway Premiership match at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday night. The game kicked off with an early goal from Rowan Human in the 14th minute, following his blocked long-range shot just three minutes earlier.

SuperSport responded with several close attempts, including a great save from AmaZulu goalkeeper Richard Ofori to deny Siviwe Magidigi. Tshepang Moremi also tested Ofori, but his shot went narrowly wide. SuperSport’s persistence eventually paid off when Siphesihle Ndlovu took advantage of an empty net after Ofori came out to intercept a cut-back, leveling the score at 1-1.

In the second half, SuperSport’s Vincent Pule came close with a powerful long-range shot that rattled the crossbar. The game became more scrappy with limited attacking chances, but in the dying moments, Ben Motshwari scored a dramatic winner for AmaZulu.

In another Betway Premiership match at Danie Craven Stadium, Stellenbosch FC and Sekhukhune United played out an exciting 1-1 draw. The match started with both teams eager to take control, and Sekhukhune’s Andy Boyeli nearly opened the scoring with a header that went just wide. Stellenbosch took the lead early in the 6th minute when Chumani Butsaka found the bottom left corner, thanks to an assist from Fawaaz Basadien.

Sekhukhune responded quickly, with Sipho Mbule scoring a precise shot from outside the box to equalize in the 22nd minute. The game took a turn when Sekhukhune’s Siphesihle Mkhize was sent off with a straight red card for a dangerous tackle.

Despite being a man down, Sekhukhune held strong against Stellenbosch, who controlled 63% of possession in the first half and created several chances, including blocked shots from Thato Khiba, Kazie Godswill, and Langelihle Phili. In the second half, Stellenbosch continued to press for a winner, but Sekhukhune’s goalkeeper stood firm. Sekhukhune also threatened on the counter, with Tresor Yamba and Linda Mntambo coming close.

The match ended with Stellenbosch dominating possession (72%) and creating 18 shots, compared to Sekhukhune’s 8, but neither team could find a winner.

Polokwane City claimed a 1-0 victory over Chippa United in another Betway Premiership clash. The match was decided by a second-half strike from Ndamulelo Maphangule, who finished off a Puleng Tlolane cross just two minutes before halftime.

The first half saw missed opportunities, with Polokwane’s Oswin Appollis returning from injury but failing to trouble Chippa’s goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali. Lebohang Nkaki missed a header, and Raymond Daniels wasted a good chance. After halftime, Chippa made several substitutions, including bringing on Malebogo Modise, Ronaldo Maarman, and Giovanni Philander, but failed to find the equalizer.

Polokwane held on for the win despite Chippa’s attacking efforts. Modise missed a golden chance to level the score after failing to convert a pass from Azola Ntsabo.
