Handré Pollard, the experienced Springbok flyhalf, is making waves in the transfer market as his contract with Leicester Tigers nears its end. The two-time World Cup winner is set to become one of the most sought-after free agents in world rugby, with clubs from all corners of the globe showing strong interest.

Given the Springboks’ dominant position in world rugby, it’s no surprise that many top clubs, particularly from Europe, Japan, and South Africa, are keen to secure the services of Pollard. The Bulls, Sharks, Stormers, and Lions are all reportedly keeping a close eye on his future.

Pollard’s current deal with Leicester Tigers runs out at the end of the season, and while the English side is eager to retain him, several other teams, including some in South Africa, have reportedly expressed interest. It’s still unclear which South African franchises are in the running, but the possibility of Pollard making a return to his homeland is certainly on the table.

In addition to the local interest, four Japanese clubs are reportedly leading the race, with their financial backing allowing them to offer a salary that other teams may struggle to match.

Pollard’s decision will be one to watch closely, as he’s set to have plenty of options on the table, with his next move likely to attract even more attention as his time with Leicester Tigers draws to a close.
