South Africa will play their final match in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against South Sudan, as Bafana Bafana look to secure the top spot in Group K. Having already qualified for next year’s competition, South Africa needs a win to finish first in the group, ahead of Uganda.
Bafana Bafana’s qualification was confirmed after their 2-0 victory over Uganda on November 15, 2024, at the Mandela National Stadium in Kampala. The win was secured thanks to second-half goals from Thapelo Morena and Patrick Maswanganyi, which propelled South Africa to the top of Group K with 11 points.

Coach Hugo Broos has made it clear that he expects his team to maintain their winning form, especially as they prepare to entertain fans in Cape Town for their final qualifier. South Africa remains unbeaten in their last 12 matches across all competitions and is determined to extend that streak.
South Sudan, on the other hand, has already been eliminated from qualification contention, having secured only one win from five games. Despite their elimination, they will still look to put up a strong performance in their final match of the campaign.
