Despite his recent acquittal on charges of rape and human trafficking, Nigerian televangelist Timothy Omotoso remains at the center of a storm — this time over allegations that his accusers are receiving death threats.

Several women who came forward during the years-long trial say they now live in fear, with threats intensifying since the not guilty verdict was delivered. The alleged intimidation is reportedly coming from some members of Omotoso’s loyal following.

“It’s like the trial never ended,” said one of the accusers, who spoke under the condition of anonymity. “We’re still being harassed, still being watched, and now we’re being threatened — all because we spoke up.”

Omotoso, the leader of the Jesus Dominion International Church, had faced multiple serious allegations that gripped South Africa and sparked national debate about abuse of power within religious institutions. While the court ruled in his favor due to lack of sufficient evidence, the emotional and psychological toll on those who testified appears far from over.

Human rights organizations are now calling for immediate intervention to ensure the safety of the women who came forward.

“Regardless of the verdict, no one deserves to be terrorized for seeking justice,” said a spokesperson from a local advocacy group. “We urge law enforcement to investigate these threats and offer protection to the women.”

As tension lingers, the case remains a stark reminder of the dangers whistleblowers and survivors often face — long after the courtroom has gone silent.
