Pastor Paseka “Mboro” Motsoeneng has officially said goodbye to his congregation, announcing that his church, Incredible Happenings Ministry, is no longer operational. The well-known South African preacher delivered his final Sunday service at the church’s Katlehong premises, marking the end of an era.
This follows a turbulent period for Mboro and his church. In August 2024, the pastor faced multiple criminal charges, including assault, kidnapping, and possession of dangerous weapons. The controversy escalated when Mboro, along with two other men, allegedly threatened teachers and forcibly removed two learners from Matsediso Primary School in Katlehong. The incident, which involved Mboro wielding a panga and a rifle, sparked outrage in the community.
Angry residents took matters into their own hands, vandalizing and setting fire to Mboro’s church. This violent backlash has now led to the church’s closure. Speaking to his congregation on Sunday, Mboro acknowledged the emotional toll of the situation. He explained that the decision to leave was difficult, but necessary for the church’s future.
Mboro told his followers, “Every time I come here, I am hanging on something that is gone. We have to leave and find a decent place to restart.” He revealed that discussions about the next steps were still ongoing, with a final meeting scheduled for later that day. While he did not disclose specifics, Mboro emphasized the importance of ensuring that his supporters were not left without guidance or resources.
“This is a farewell for the church premises here,” Mboro continued. “We have men and women who have been giving their support. They cannot be left without anything. We are moving with them, and we will be here at 9 o’clock.”
The closure of Incredible Happenings Ministry marks a significant chapter in Mboro’s life and ministry, with the future of his congregation still uncertain as plans for a new direction are being discussed.
