Gauteng Police Operations Lead to 95 Arrests, Recovery of Stolen Vehicles and Firearms

Between October 25 and October 31, Rapid Response Services, including the Flying Squad, K9 Units, and Highway Patrol, made significant progress in combating crime across Gauteng. Their operations led to the arrest of 95 suspects and the recovery of 41 stolen vehicles and five unlicensed firearms.

Officers carried out concentrated vehicle checkpoints, secure escorts, and intensive patrols, resulting in 55 arrests for serious crimes such as assault, armed robbery, theft, house burglary, rape, murder, and kidnapping. Other charges included malicious damage to property, pointing a firearm, and driving under the influence.

The operations also targeted vehicle-related crimes, recovering 41 hijacked and stolen cars. Eleven suspects were arrested for possession of stolen vehicles. In addition, five firearms were seized, leading to three arrests.

Drug-related offenses were also addressed, with 26 individuals arrested for possession and dealing in narcotics. Investigations into these cases are ongoing.

The suspects are set to appear in local magistrate courts across Gauteng, as authorities continue their efforts to enhance public safety.
