A devastating shooting incident has shaken the community of Mpumalanga, leaving a prominent pastor dead. Dr. Ezrom Mathumbu, a well-known presenter on Munghana Lonene FM and member of Action SA, was tragically killed while driving on the R536 Road near Cork Trust, between Mkhulu and the Kruger National Park in the Bushbuckridge Municipality.
According to provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Donald Mdhluli, a vehicle pulled up alongside Mathumbu’s Toyota GD06 bakkie and fired several shots. Despite the brutal attack, nothing appears to have been taken from the scene, and police recovered rifle cartridges. Paramedics sadly confirmed Mathumbu’s death on the scene.
The motive behind the killing remains unknown, and police are urging the community to come forward with any information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators. “We appeal to anyone with information to contact the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111 or send information via MYSAPSAPP,” said Mdhluli.
