BFS apprehends four suspects on charges including possession of counterfeit goods, property damage, and drug possession.
Between November 14 and November 17, Benoni Flying Squad members made significant strides in their fight against crime, arresting four suspects and recovering counterfeit goods worth around R100,000.
The operations began in the early hours of November 14, when officers on routine patrol along the N12 intercepted a silver Hino truck near the Springs off-ramp. Upon investigation, the officers discovered that the goods being transported were counterfeit. The two suspects, aged 43 and 46, were immediately arrested and the illicit goods were seized as evidence.
The following day, on November 16, another successful arrest took place in Kempton Park. At around 12:00, a security guard flagged down the Flying Squad members on Commissioner Street near the squash center. She pointed out a 28-year-old suspect who had been attempting to break into the building by smashing several windows. The suspect was swiftly arrested.
Further bolstering the operation, officers in Brakpan arrested a 43-year-old man on the corner of Wenden and High roads after he was found in possession of crystal methamphetamine. The investigation into this case is ongoing.
The Benoni Flying Squad’s recent operations highlight the ongoing commitment of local law enforcement to tackle crime in the area, with investigations continuing across all cases.
